I know it is a long shot, but we wanted to take the chance that someone would like to pet/house sit Jan.3-6th in Londonderry NH. We got a chance to rescue a Samoyed, but have to travel to Maryland to pick him up. We are looking for someone that wants to spend time in beautiful New Hampshire, does not charge, but enjoys exploring new places and not having to pay for a motel. Minimal housework (just clean up after yourself) bringing in the mail and the newspapers. There could be some shoveling/snow blowing if we should get a storm while we are gone. Our house is located in a great neighborhood and sits on a 1 acre lot. We are about 10 minutes from the Manchester airport and the Mall of New Hampshire.

Need someone who loves dogs (pet children) as much as we do

We are going to Europe for 3 weeks in march 2013. We are looking for someone to stay at our house for the only reason to look after our english bulldog. He is actually treated and seen as our child in our family and we are very nervous about leaving him. He is very laid back and not super active although he goes for a couple of walks a day and does demand lots of attention, he is an indoor dog and is never left outside alone. This would technically be as though you where babysitting someones child for 3 weeks.

A little about our house, we live in a lovely renovated miners cottage in Wickham, Newcastle, it is only a 10 minute walk into the city, and honeysuckle the harbour is at the end of the street. Walking distance to alot of beautiful restaurants and all the best parts of newcastle. The beach is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. The house is easy to keep clean and there wont be much maintenance needed apart from cleaning dog hair and thats about it.

Like i mentioned before the main requirements are basically constant care for the bulldog, as i am with him 24/7 so he isnt used to being alone for long periods of time, although a couple of hours is not a problem.

A mature responsible person or couple (preferably over 50) would be fine, but must be a dog lover, and not mind the bulldog getting up in your personal space. We would also like someone that will be home most of the day, so the bulldog wont be alone for long periods of time as he is an inside dog and is never left outside, while we are out, (too many dogs, particularly bulldogs get stolen in this area for dogs fights etc) 3 hours is usually the maximum amount of time for him to be left alone inside.

He likes to goto the park in the morning and afternoon for a 15 minute run around and this is when he will do his daily poops.

Yes you could call us crazy dog people, we see our bulldog motley, as equal to any other living being human or not, and would expect the sitter to do the same with motley.

We have a dog, Cookie and cat, Emmie, who need feeding, and the dog, a daily walk. Cookie is only 18 months, but well behaved, and loves to play fetch. House sit in beautiful Santa Fe

I have a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Santa Fe 3.5 miles from the Santa Fe Plaza. The house has all amenities, wi-fi, large, landscaped yard.

I have 2 well-behaved female dogs (healer mixes) who love to go hiking on the nearby trails and am looking for a housesitter who would love to do that with them. The dogs need at least a daily 1 hour walk off-leash. They are very good off-leash, don't run away or fight with other dogs but they do best with an experienced dog handler.

Caretakers needed for Rural Farmstay Property in Denmark WA.

Rural Farmstay property in Denmark, Western Australia. Set on 107 acres with state forest behind, 2 creeks running thru property, close to beach. We have Coloured sheep, minature pony, alpacas, chooks and kangaroos. Sit back on the verandah enjoy the view, feed the rosellas, go fishing or enjoy a good book! Close to treetop walk, wineries, cheese factory and chocolate factory!

We have 4 cottages on the farm however, over the cooler months we have lower occupancy. A long weekend will fall during this time so we would expect to be full.

We require a housesitter from 28th April to 7th Jul 2013.

We would prefer a couple, however any enquiries welcome. NO DOGS allowed due to our mob of kangaroos - several of which are tame and a major attraction to our overseas visitors.

You would have full use of house (4 bdrm, 2bthrm) in return we ask that you be able to check the s, collect the mail, answer the , take bookings/payments, hand over keys and some laundry (as required) feed the chooks, alpacas and the pony! Some basic maintenance may be required. In return we dont require any payment for utilities. Just cost of any calls made. Basic access to internet for personal use.

Our adult children are only a call away if you need help!

Long term sit in luxury villa in southern Italy

We are looking for a retired, active couple for a long term house sit at our beautiful villa in southern Italy. Due to last minute changes, we need someone ideally from 4th January onwards (or as close to this date as possible). House sitters should be in a position to stay until the end of April/begninning of May. The house sits on its own private 9 acre hill plot and consists of a 225 sq m villa with private 40ft infinity pool. The house was built as our retirement home but we have still not managed to relocate full time to Italy so require a reliable house sitting couple to live in the property when we are not in residence to ensure it is looked after and not stood empty. We work on a NO FEE either side, but we would kindly request that the house sitters are responsible for their own utility usage, ie gas, electricity and water. We have meters on all utilities so this is easy to manage. We of course will pay for all electricity connected with the pool and all other house charges. General house and garden maintenance and any necessary DIY. If you are an avid gardener that would be a bonus. We have a vegetable plot and are happy for the house sitters to potter! If necessary, organising technicans as appropriate if anything serious requires fixing. The masseria was only built 3 years ago so there should not need to be much to attend to in this respect. We have no pets or animals which require looking after but we are looking for a few small jobs (mostly outside) to be carried out whilst we are away as exchange for the use of our home. These include things like painting gates; preparing and planting pots and and vegetable beds; shubbery landscaping.

Situated on the edge of a National Park and only 15 minutes drive from the historic city of Matera, this is an unspoilt part of Italy whereby you will get the opportunity to explore and experience the "real" Italy. It is an extremely friendly part of the country. The locals are all lovely people. The area is fascinating with amazing landscapes. If you enjoy walking; painting; reading; food and wine this is the ideal location for you. The nearest town for local shopping is Montescaglio which is about an 8 minute drive away. Here you find an abundance of supermarkets, bars, cafes, restaurants and all the usual shops such as a hairdresser, beauty salon, holistic massage centre. There is a weekly fresh produce market and many of the locals sell their home grown produce daily from their door steps. It's like going back in time and is a delightful town to wander around. There is no tourism which is one of the reasons we choose to live here. You will be staying in a luxury property which is extremely highly speced. With this in mind, we are looking for a deserning couple who are familiar with looking after such a property. Sky TV, Bose Docking system for Ipod and satellite internet is available at the house. There are also numerous WIFI zones in both Montescagliosco (8 mins away) and Matera (15 minutes away). Plenty of books, CD's and DVD's at the house.

Oregon in spring, near hiking trails

Our house is on 5 acres just outside Corvallis, an appealing (approx. 50,000) university town in the Willamette Valley. On clear days there is a great view over to the Cascade Mountains from our house.

Corvallis is about 1.5 hours from the Oregon coast, Portland, and the Cascade Mountains. Even better -- we think -- is the extensive network of trails 10 minutes drive from our house in the woods owned by the OSU College of Forestry.

We have a small flock of chickens and ducks and half a dozen friendly geese, and we sell eggs, mostly to weekly customers; a sitter would need to close the birds into their house, let them out in the morning, and put eggs into an outside fridge for customers, as well as checking food and water. A couple of dozen chicks, in a separate house, will require little work, but can be loads of fun. We do have neighbors who would probably be happy to do bird care for one to two nights, if you want to be gone.

Our smart and playful 7-year-old female border-collie/golden retriever mix will also be here; she is comfortable staying in the house or outside when no one is home (though she'd always prefer to go with you). She is used to being taken for a walk in the woods each day, so we'd prefer to find a sitter who'd enjoy that. If you'd prefer not to have a dog in your car, we could leave you the keys to our (1990s) car.

We built our own house (owner builders). Like most owner builders, we have not quite finished it -- some windows have no trim, there is a wall by the stairs with no drywall. But most people think it's a great house. That said, if you are used to a suburban ranch house and a house cleaner, this is not the house for you. There is wifi and satellite TV.

There are electric wall heaters, and there's a good wood stove. You probably won't need either in May.

There is also a newer building (that was professionally built) with a shop, a music room, and an exercise room. There are two queen futon beds out there (but no bathroom) and there is a bedroom with a queen bed upstairs in the main house, as well as two bathrooms, one up, one down.

The landscape is going to look its best in April/May -- dozens of fruit trees in bloom, daffodils, tulips. But be warned: you can't count on it not raining till after the 4th of July in this part of the world.

Because we'd really like the dog to get her usual 30-60 minutes of exercise a day, we'd really like a sitter who would enjoy that.

Includes watering and monitoring temperatures in detached greenhouse and harvesting veggies from it. Utilities paid (within reason).

This is a very small house ( one and a half bedrooms, one v small, but adequate, bathroom upstairs; small living room and separate kitchen / diner downstairs.) Large back garden given over mostly to ( v.overgrown ! ) lawn. V. Small front garden / parking space. Open fire [ logs or coal ] heats living room and radiators elsewhere. Also heats hot water. Ludworth is a somewhat unprepossessing ex-mining village in County Durham - friendly village post office / newsagents being the only facility.

Two buses an hour to stunningly beautiful and historic Durham City which has many cultural facilities; also excellent shopping.

Edinburgh two hours by train. Ludworth is also not far from beautiful coastal paths for walking / cycling. These are accessible by bus. The house is very basic - heating is by open coal fire - if you can do the work involved the house is very cosy. Kitchen has (old but functional ) electric cooker / fridge/freezer.

House has in the past been tenanted by such as academics at Durham University.

The arrangement I am looking for is one with NO payment in either direction - no rent to pay me and I don't pay you anything. House-sitter responsible for ALL utilities, incl internet / tv licence / electricity ( by pre-pay meter ) local council tax / coal / water charges .

One or two rooms may benefit from a touch of paint but this could make a pleasant, modest home for one or two persons with handyman / gardening skills. House-sitting period negotiable.

Might suit writer / academic wanting quiet but with access to libraries / art galleries / theatre / etc etc - all of which Durham City has.

Durham University has excellent library facilities which would probably be available to a visiting academic. If not the City library - free to all - is excellent, for books / internet / dvds.
