Andalucian Cortijo in Almeria, Spain

What am I looking for in a house sitter? An experienced couple that are genuinely fond of dogs and a cat and happy to do some gardening, mostly mowing the lawns and a bit of weeding. As our place is a 150 year old farmhouse a basic understanding of electrics and plumbing would be an advantage. Outgoing with experience in running a small holiday lettings would be an advantage along with basic computer skills. What responsibilities will my house sitter have? Look after and care for 2 dogs and a cat and carry out maintenance to the plunge pool and maintain the gardens. Automatic watering system installed and there is no heavy weeding just occasionally "dead heading". There are 3 holiday rental units and sitter would be required,to "Meet & Greet" and assist guests with prepared information sheets and online bookings such as the Alhambra in Granada. What are the good features of my property and location? Located in the very Spanish village of Lubrin in Almeria. Lubrin is located 2000ft up in the Sierra de los Filabres and just 45 minutes from Mojacar on the Costa del Almeria. The Farmhouse is set on a hilltop and surrounded by an acre of terraced lawns and Olive, Almond and Pomegranate trees and is a short 5min walk to the very authentic small village which has all the amenities. The views aretruly panoramic of the surrounding village andmountains. Utilities are free and include electricity, mains water, hot water & central heating, tele line rental (calls at cost per itemised bill) and 1mb wireless broadband. Use of our car is also included but not fuelfor personal use. If you enjoy walking then there are wonderful walks in the hills and valleys straight out of the main entrance If you are studying Spanish then Lubrin Pueblo is the perfect place to "practicar su espaƱol". If you are thinking of moving or retiring to Andalucia then this assignment would present a good opportunity to test drive living in rural Almeria. A big bonus is an unforgettable experience of Spanish mountain hospitality from the delightful and charming villagers of Lubrin. What do potential house sitters need to consider before applying for this assignment? The guests are given priority in the use of the pool but mostly use it for a brief plunge to cool off before retreating back to their very private terraces.
