cat/house sitter needed for the holidays--spend christmas in new york!
We're looking for a cat and house sitter for our apartment while we are gone for the holidays, Dec. 20th-Jan 1st. Dates are flexible; ideally you could arrive the 19th (or be in the city already) so that we can meet in person and show you around etc. You are welcome to arrive earlier than that, or to stay past the first, we have a small spare room for guests. If your travel plans put you in NYC after the 19th, we can likely arrange to have a neighbor meet with you.
About the sit: You will be caring for a sweet, cranky old lady cat, who is fairly low maintenance. Food and litterbox are the main duties, though if she warms up to you (she can be a little shy) some loving would be appreciated! We also have houseplants, which will likely need water at some point, but are also low maintenance. We will always be accessible by for any questions or concerns you may have, and we will have a friend drop by every few days to make sure all is well who can help if any issues arise.
About the apartment: A sunny 2 bedroom in a brownstone, close to the 3/4 trains and many buses (the C, though further, is also within walking distance). Wifi, bicycles, and botanical garden membership available for use. The immediate few blocks are very neighborhood-y, with a small park. Great local restaurants & bars, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are all things that we bike/walk to easily, or can be reached by train or bus. Manhattan is a 15 minute train ride away.
About you: As long as you're responsible and considerate we like you! Couples or small families are welcome; your guests are welcome (we would prefer to be notified if they will stay for more than a couple of days).
