Mature sitters required for 9 weeks in Toowoomba
We are again planning for our annual trek north and seeking reliable and mature house-sitters from 15 April to 21 June 2013at our home in Toowoomba, Queensland. We have a beautiful four-bedroom home on an acre of land on the western side of Toowoomba. We have a ten year old Sheltie (Phantom) and a twelve year old cat (Tendu) who both love a little bit of spoiling and are very friendly - just like our small neighbourhood.
The most important requirement for any prospective house-sitters, from our point of view, is that they have some experience with caring for a long-haired dog as Phantom does require regular brushing and we would prefer sitters who would be comfortable with that task. Our local area is still very green and we have our own tanks for use in the garden. There is a ride-on mower and our gardens are very easy-care with mostly flowering natives requiring little or no maintenance at that time of year. We have an in-ground solar-heated salt-water pool requiring no maintenance during our time away.
We have a very friendly neighbourhood with a small shopping complex just one km away and the centre of Toowoomba is just five kms. There is no public transport so your own vehicle would be needed.
We are about eighty mins. drive from Brisbane, and two hours from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
Toowoomba is renowned for its beautiful gardens and there are many things to see and do around our region. Previous sitters have all enjoyed exploring our beautiful region.
There is space for anyone travelling with a van or trailer, but unfortunately, we are unable to accept sitters travelling with their own pet/s.
Please be aware that Toowoomba does experience some very cool nights during the winter period, but the days are mild and for the most part very rarely wet!
